Grandma

Found out more about grandma's situation. The brain tumor is about 4cm large which makes options limited. Its already decided that she'll do surgery to remove as much of it as possible, otherwise if she doesn't she'll only have 2-8 months to live.

Grandma

My grandmother, Jean, really really needs prayers from everyone that is kind enough to give them. She's just been diagnosed with a brain tumor and right now we do not know how bad it is or what her options are but based on her recent behavior, it sounds really bad.
Traditonally, if we're not busy with other things or too lazy, we put the tree up shortly after TG holiday and over the course of Decemeber the rest of the decorations go up but that's pretty much been scaled down to a tree and a village. I pretty much do it all by myself these days. Parents are too lazy. The decorations stay up until a few days after New Years.

Christmas use to be fun for me, now its just a hassle since Im the only one doing it and no family around. Back when the family use to be within driving distance of each other, it use to be loads of fun.

In fact things had gone to hell in a hand basket really quick once people began to notice that Hector was still alive with a bleeding hole in his head that was rapidly healing. Jack remembered shooting him, saying good bye to his face just before he had, and the crowd in the saloon had all suddenly quieted and looked in their direction.

A woman had screamed. It had been the wench on Barbossa’s lap. Then the next thing he knew Coyote Jim had smashed a whiskey bottle across his head and sent him sprawling into another outlaw who hadn’t taken too kindly at having his drink spilled into his lap or a man crashing into him. He had shoved Jack away and drew his own pistol to shoot him, but his aim was spoiled by another wench trying to prevent a fight in the saloon by smashing someone else’s whiskey bottle over his head. That pissed off the cowboy who then went after Coyote Jim, blaming him for the loss of his drink.

Soon enough there was a brawl in the saloon and Jack was doing his best to try and get out before the sheriff and his deputies showed up.

But he hadn’t gotten out fast enough and now he paced in the brick laced cell with Barbossa and Jim for company. Well he had Jim for company. Barbossa was in the cell next door with the local pastor, sheriff and surgeon trying to figure out how he could be alive after taking a shot to the head. A shot that the sheriff had seen happen since he apparently had been in the saloon at the time of the incident, and was baffled as to how it was mostly healed now.

Jack grabbed the bars and tried to peer next door and listen to what was going on with Barbossa. He knew he should have planned his revenge a little more carefully now that they couldn’t be killed by anyone, not even by their own hands. He blanched at the conversation he heard. It wasn’t good. The pastor wanted to try an exorcism on Barbossa, the sheriff wanted to hang him and the only one on the immortal pirate’s side was the surgeon but even though you couldn’t really say he was on Barbossa’s side. The man wanted to examine him. To Jack, examine meant experiment and he could only imagine what kind of experiments would be done on Barbossa.

Deserves him right, it does, he thought. But despite wanting his revenge for being betrayed again, buried to the neck in the middle of the Painted Desert and having his favorite horse stolen; he did not and could not wish such a fate on Barbossa despite how much he hated him right now. Or had hated him. His anger at what the older pirate had done to him had dissipated the moment he had shot him in the face. The score had been settled and now they were back on even terms again. Friends? Perhaps not. Partners? Maybe, if the schemes were worth the effort to set aside their differences and hatred for each other again.

The three authorities left Barbossa’s cell and brought Jack out of his thoughts. As soon as they were gone the older pirate’s arms appeared from his cell before gripping the bars. “Jaack. Yeh certainly have a flair for gettin’ us into awkward an’ most difficult situations as well as gettin’ out of ‘em. Care to share how you’ll be getting’ us out of this one, lad?”

Jack relaxed when he noticed that there was no hint of malice or hatred in the older pirate’s voice. After all he had just shot him in the face and revealed a closely held secret about them, well him at least. He hung his arms through the bars as he leaned on the cell door. He sounded a bit cocky when he replied to his former partner, “Course I do. Who am I?”

“Captain Jack Sparrow,” Barbossa answered the age old question wearily.

Though inside the saloon was no different with the number of people inside trying to relax either with a glass of whiskey or scotch, playing a round of cards with friends and new acquaintances, watching the horrible entertainment or smoking their cigarillos and cigars. The latter one tended to introduce additional heat and stifling, choking air to the already hot place.

But to Jackie “Sparrow” James, no relation to Jessie James who was a similar outlaw to himself, wasn’t interested in the entertainment or paid little attention to how uncomfortable it was in the saloon. His attention was riveted on a single patron who was busy playing a hand of poker with a group of other unsavory men and delicately balancing a voluptuous woman on his leg as he smoked a cigar and drank whiskey. Sitting at a nearby table and keeping an eye on the other card players was a red Indian, dressed in a weathered duster and pants over a stained shirt and sporting a beaten gentleman’s hat with an eagle’s feather.

Jack had business with the man whose back the Indian was watching out for. Business that could be settled only one way and he knew the other was not going to like it one bit. But Jack did not plan on letting him even have one moment to like or dislike it. A man who had been buried to his head in the middle of the desert and left there to rot and suffer, since dying wasn’t an option for him, and having his favored horse stolen from him; Jack wanted to make sure that Blackheart Hector didn’t know what was coming to him until it finally came to him.

So he continued to watch the former pirate turned gunfighter, bank and train robber and cattle rustler entertain himself with the woman in his lap and the pile of bills and coin that was growing in front of him. Jack wouldn’t make his move until the current entertainment ended its act and the main show began for that was when no one would notice a single man moving through the crowd to his target, more importantly Hector and Coyote Jim would not notice him, which is what he wanted.

The cowboys and outlaws, civilians and soldiers that occupied the saloon finished booing and throwing glasses at the poor comedic act that was a sad looking clown who looked like he had one too many to drink and was in need of another. He looked more like he belonged in one of Wild Bills shows further north than in a place like this. The clown jeered at the unruly men and gestured dismissively at them as he made his way off the stage and as soon as he was gone everyone quieted down and went back to their drinks and conversations until the main show started.

Jack took a measured sip of his whiskey and allowed his eyes to drift to the parting red curtains. He allowed small grin to cross his lips as the men began to get rowdy once more and cat call and wolf whistle as a very comely singer stepped out in revealing attire and began to sing. Her voice silenced the men for only a few moments until she started to dance enticingly to them and the crowd once more became rowdy.

By midway through the act, Jack was already moving through the rowdy men and as he drew closer to the table of his intended destination, he could see that Hector was enjoying the show as much as the rest of the men in the saloon. But that enjoyment and the smirking grin on his face was soon washed away in a wave of dread and surprise as Jack Sparrow suddenly appeared in his field of vision pointing a ivory handled and silver barreled Peacemaker .45 in his face.

“I’ve waited six months for this,” Jack said as his finger squeezed the trigger. “Hello and good-bye, Hector.”

I had no intentions of continuing a previous drabble but this is what came up for this weeks prompt so I decided to do it anyway. Heh. Should this continue in a another drabble, which it might since I have the next scene already in my head, I may make this a drabble series. Dunno yet.

In front of him was another cowboy pointing a Colt .45 at him and holding on to the reins of his black horse. Said black horse was one of the reasons why he was standing in his long underwear to begin with.

“After all these years, Hector, you still covet what is rightfully mine,” Jack sneered at the older cowboy who wore a dusty brown long coat over a red vest and white shirt and dirty brown breeches. He glanced beside Barbossa at the Red Indian dressed as a frontier gentleman on a painted horse and holding a Winchester rifle at Jack in one hand and a bottle in the other. Coyote Jim was his name and he thought he could trust the Cherokee but it seemed even Indians could be bought with a bottle of whiskey.

“Twas never rightfully yours, Jack,” replied Hector as he cocked the revolver at his former partner in crime. They both had been train and bank robbers throughout Texas and up and down the Mississippi River for the last five years and things had begun to heat up between them and the law. Hector wanted to continue their reign of terror and success in the region but Jack wanted to go somewhere else where they weren’t known or wanted hence why they were out in the middle of the desert with Hector holding the reins of Jack’s precious black Pearl and pointing a revolver at him. “Besides, Jack, you’re a dead man an’ dead men have no use for a fast horse.”

“You know you can’t kill me, Hector,” Jack defiantly said and held up his chin.

“No, but I can force you to dig your grave.” The older thief tossed him a spade and it landed at Jack’s feet. “So start digging. Dig deep too, real deep.”

Jack scowled at him and picked up the spade and started to dig into the hard ground of the desert. When he was done and buried to his head and Hector had rode off on his horse with Coyote Jim leaving behind a trail of dust in their wake, Jack Sparrow spitting out that dust, the former and immortal pirate began to contemplate how he got into this situation again.

“At least last time he marooned me on an island with rum,” he sighed and tried to wiggle his way out of the ground. This time he had no rum, no clothes save for his underwear, and no pistol to get his revenge on Barbossa later. Someone, at least, learned their lesson. He was certain that if he hadn’t been immortal, Hector would have shot him dead this time too.

Now he just needed to get out of this damned hole before the vultures showed up.

IMDB - Ice Age 3 Rant

*jumps on soap box*

Let me just say that the IMDB is full of morons. Why do I say this? I just read a thread concerning the new Ice Age movie that is coming out and how that person is upset because the franchise is introducing dinosaurs and therefore ruining scientific fact about that period in history. Fortunately there was one or two people in that thread that were trying to set the record straight but they were outnumbered by the idiotic, religious fanatics and scientific douchebags and overprotective parents (which in my opinion are all a bunch of morons that need a reality check in their lives) so their intelligence got drowned out by all the stupidity of the others.

Yes there are dinosaurs in the movie. There were dinosaurs in the other two movies too. Ice Age had one frozen. Ice Age 2 had two of them for villains and now Ice Age 3 has a whole lost world so having dinosaurs in Ice Age is nothing new. The Lost World has always been a myth in human culture, a world where time had forgotten and that man had yet to discover and touch. It has never been below Hollywood to use myth and legends to make a movie entertaining, especially a cartoon movie. But there is the key word. "Entertaining". Hollywood's goal is to entertain the populace and make money off of entertaining them. If cheesy two-dimensional plots are found entertaining by the populace then Hollywood will produce such a movie. If you don't like that kind of movie, then why are you showing an interest in cartoons to begin with? Most of the time they are cheesy, two-dimensional movies.

Yes dinosaurs also did exist at one time. They don't exist now because they died out. To anyone who believes that the Earth is 6000 years old and therefore dinosaurs never existed, you need to go to a museum of natural history and ask the curator to take you back to where they clean the fossils or go to that dinosaur museum where they excavate the fossils in person or just go to Montana and to that valley that's rich for dinosaur fossils. Only a blind man would ignore what is in front of him, but only an idiot would deny the truth when it is laid out before him. I could go on how Creation and Evolution is one and the same thing but that's for another rant for another day.

Now there are the overprotective parents who dislike the Sid and Bull joke that you see in the trailer. They are afraid that little boys and girls will pull out the genitals of other boys and tug on them because of the joke. If they are under the age of 12 they are more than likely not going to get that joke and therefore won't be doing that. If they are older than they have enough sense to not do it unless they are retarded and isolated, sheltered children that haven't been told what is right and wrong then you have some basis to your concerns otherwise your children have brains of their own and you need to learn to trust them and let them be themselves elsewise they'll grow up being ignorant of the real world.

There is also nothing wrong with a child believing that animals can talk. In fact you should encourage things like that but also remind them that it is make-believe. Your child will be happier in his/her childhood and look back on those days with fondness. Parents need not worry about the child continuing to believe that animals can talk because as they grow older, they will outgrow that belief unless, again, they are mentally unwell to begin with then the parent needs to make sure that the child understands that it is make-believe. One of the things that is wrong with society today is that parents refuse to let their children to believe in the absurd and fantastical and the children grow up without an imagination and become prudes essentially. Without imaginative intuition we would have no music, no art, no stories, no movies, no inventions, nothing. We would all be mindless, unthinking, unimaginative drones with no sense of humor and very little happiness in our lives.

*jumps off soap box*

My first video! Haha.

A Runescape tutorial for the minigame Vinesweeper. You don't have to play Runescape to get some use out of this tutorial. It can also teach you how to play Minesweeper since both are the exact same game.

<lj-embed id="3" />

Others say that they could be no more wrong than a sailor claiming that the Kraken was real. But Hector Barbossa was the most vile, despicable, bloodthirsty cutthroat, second to Blackbeard himself, which could have ever possibly sailed the seas. Beset upon with a terrible curse, the man succumbed to the most evil of natures to free himself and his crew of the woes that their own foolish greed had put upon themselves.

Ships burned. Bays ran red with the blood of hundreds. Women screamed, children cried and men died. Atrocities were committed and innocence destroyed. Prayers could not bring salvation to those who fell beneath the cutlasses and cannon shot of the cursed pirates. Priests held crosses before them once the wicked moon revealed what they were and Hector Barbossa merely laughed at their God just before he would impale them upon his sword or put one between their eyes.

There would be no warning to his attacks save for a sinister fog rolling in out of no where in the middle of the night. The superstitious captains would sail away and mothers would close their shutters and children would huddle together in the hopes that this night would not bring the Death ship and her ghastly crew to their shores.

And it was all for the gold.

The evil, vile, wicked and enchanted gold that had made Hector Barbossa and his crew the myth and legend they had become. He was something to fear, something to whisper, and something not to wish upon others. The Devil despised him, the Saints pitied him and God had abandoned him. He was a man so evil that Hell spat him back out.

“Hell hath indeed spat me back out,” Hector Barbossa whispered in amusement as he looked up at the image of Tia Dalma hovering over his prone body, “an’ given me to the Devil’s queen.”

Sad Night

My father just received a call from his step-mother informing him that grandpa had passed away this morning. I don't know if he (and I) will be going to California for the funeral. I have mixed feelings on the subject; 1) ive only seen the man twice in my entire life. The first time I was real little and I barely remember anything except that I brought a chess board to him and asked if he would play chess with me and he said no. The second time I saw him was a few years ago when he finally realized that he had no family, so to speak, and broke down in front of us all. 2) he is my grandfather after all and the only one that I had left. I never knew my grandfather from my mother's side since he died long before I was born. Not sure what I'll do on this matter.

:(

Susan Boyle - A Great Surprise Within!

OMFG!

I normally do not watch talent shows but I was watching the Today show this morning and they had the story of the Britain's Got Talent latest shocker: Susan Boyle. Lemme just say that it definitely gives truth to the old saying "Never judge a book by its cover"! Hear for yourself if you don't believe me!

Susan Boyle - "I Dreamed A Dream" from Les Miserables

And here is an old recording of hers back in 1999 on a charity cd. It makes me wonder why she hadn't been discovered back then with a voice like that.

Susan Boyle - "Cry Me A River" from a 1999 Charity CD

Weirdness

I had the weirdest dream EVER and my god was it detailed...

Okay... for starters the dream started out as a documentary on Hector Barbossa detailing about his life as a pirate and later as a husband and father. It also mentions he had found the means to live a very long life (aka immortal). It shows those old drawings of Barbossa and a couple paintings, etchings of his ship and a book with handscript writing (supposedly his own journal). As I said this is a documentary so I'm seeing it as a film and not in person.

Then it goes on talking about his family. His wife isn't mentioned but you get a sense that she existed and he loved her. It doesn't mention any sons or daughters but it does mention a grandson and a granddaughter and the documentary moves on to them, detailing what they ended up doing in their lives.

First it talks about the grandson, even gives a name, Michael Barbossa, and calls him the first air dare devil. The documentary takes on an old, grainy black and white film (like the kind of silent film) and talks about how Michael and his "father" (first time a father is mentioned) would take an old biplane up in the air and fly it around and perform tricks for an audience below. Now this plane is VERY VERY detailed looking in my dream. I can see the plane perfectly, including the custom decorations made to the plane. Where the spars are that hold up the wings, there are intricate Bs. The cockpit has an intricate iron work attached to it giving the plane an almost elegant look. I'll have it sketched out quickly so I'll try to scan it and show everyone what it looks like.

Anyway... this black and white film of Michael shows him smiling and dressed up like a pilot and he's approaching the plane while talking to someone, possibly the camera guy, and he climbs onto the plane and into the cockpit and then we see the plane head down a strip (runway) and take off to do tricks in the sky. The documentary continues to go on about Michael but I don't hear the details because the dream starts to fade to the next grandchild, Annaka Barbossa.

In this one, Annaka Barbossa is not being filmed but we see her in person and we see her in a glittery, tight acrobatic suit. Its blue and silver mixed that gives it an almost pale blue look. We see her doing the trapeze in a circus (but no crowd so I'm guessing she's practicing). As she's performing, and this is when it gets REALLY weird, we get a shot of a bull's testicles and some gunk comes off of it and hits a button inside the circus tent but behind the scenes. This button effects a certain trapeze line that Annaka is using and it goes haywire. Annaka manages to hold on and screams for help until someone manages to turn off the button.

Someone, another female trapeze performer, tells her that it was the bulls fault ( 0_o ) and Annaka thinks nothing of it. Then the scene changes to the big day at the circus with a crowd and everyone watching. I can hear the ringmaster introducing Annaka and directs everyone's attention to her performance. She waves to everyone and begins her performance. The usual stunts are done and then we get to the newest trick, and it gets wierd again. This time the bull is on the tight rope with its tail on fire and she's standing on its back riding it across as its running across mad with its tail on fire!

Then while she's performing we see this sinister figure in shadow in the scaffolds above the trapeze act and I don't remember how this person manages it but half way through the performance, this person manages to snare and hang Annaka. Then we see from Annaka's eyes who this person is cause she does get a look and we see its the other female performer who goes by the name of Anasta. We then hear the crowd crying out in shock as Annaka hangs from the trapeze stage.

And its not over yet!

The police are called in to investigate Annaka's murder and CSI are brought it. Now we have a location of where this circus was performing. Las Vegas! Gil Grissom, Nick Stokes and Catherine Willows come onto the scene to investigate and as Nick and Catherine talk to the ringmaster and other performers, Grissom spots someone off to the side near Annaka's body and the Coroner. He approaches and the man turns around to reveal an upset (though hiding it well) Hector Barbossa! He calls Grissom by his first name which tells us they know each other.

Grissom then asks him if he knows if anyone wanted Annaka dead and Hector shakes his head explaining he doesn't know. Gil then tells him he didn't know that Annaka had joined the circus, apparently he had met Annaka when she was young, and Hector goes into detail explaining how that came about. It seems he had taken Annaka to a circus when she was eight and saw the trapeze act and like all children, she wanted to be a trapeze artist when she grew up. He thought nothing of it until she turned fourteen and asked if she could join the circus when it came into town again. Being that he'd do anything for his granddaughter, he allowed her to join the circus and this particular circus had the family known as the Flying Graysons and they took her in. Hector then tells Gil that he always visited the circus and Annaka whenever it came into town and he learned how her life went. At first she was just a simple helper, caring for the animals and equipment so that she'd learn to respect it all which was a big thing for the circus performers. Respect it and it'll respect you in the end they said. This went on for four years of her life until she became eighteen and started training with the Graysons. She caught her big break when she was nineteen and joined the Graysons in the air and for fifteen years she was performing for the circus successfully.

Gil then asks if she had any enemies among the other performers that he knew about and he told him he didn't know. But he did know that Dick Grayson was seeing her and that they had a relationship. He also told Gil about the accident from before, finding it disbelieving that some bull could shoot off some crap from its testicles to hit a button that controlled the trapeze equipment. Gil has Nick and Catherine investigate that lead and they discover that it was a bunch of cock and bull and that someone had planted the crap to make it look like it was the bulls fault.

Then the scene changes to the police station and Hector is behind the viewing window watching the interrogation of Anasta and she admits to killing Annaka and why. Apparently she did it because she was jealous and because the Graysons wouldn't let her have her big performance because it was Annaka this and Annaka that. Hector is upset and doesnt understand why Anasta couldn't wait one more year to be given her chance since she was eighteen and the Graysons dont let the new performers performer until they're nineteen after a year of intense training.

When Anasta is taken away to be processed and charged, Hector comes out of the room and confronts her telling her she should have waited and explaining why and Anasta looks horror struck that she killed someone out of jealousy when it really wasn't necessary and he watches her being taken away. He turns to Gil and tells him that he's lost almost everything now with Annaka's death. Now the dream goes on with Hector talking about what he has been doing for the last two centuries.

The dream starts to become vague because thats when I'm starting to wake up. Anyway, the dream shows drawings of Hector Barbossa and his wife by some French artist and they're not just portrait drawings but also drawings of their life. Things they did, places they've been with them in it. Almost like photographs of their life but drawn in pencil or charcoal or ink. But it turns out this French artist never drew these drawings but his name was used. The artist turns out to be one of Hector's many children he's had over the decades.

The dream then changes to some strange tunnel with words on it that I couldn't make out and we're traveling down the tunnel and someone is explaining to me that this tunnel leads to the memorial that Hector erected for where the Black Pearl rests forever. As we emerge we come out into this tropical place and the person points me in the direction and get this sense of granduer suspense and I turn hoping to see the black ship but instead I only see a ... golf course? Wtf?

The person explains to me that the Pearl is in the lake and for a brief moment we see a part of her stern sticking out and slightly hidden by seaweed. Behind us is an old bunker that has seen better days and thats where we came from. The person explains that it use to be a memorial to the Pearl until someone came along and bought the place, believing that Hector (the owner of the land) was long dead and there was no next of kin listed that could possibly be alive to claim the land so therefore the land became part of the state and this person bought it and built a golf course right on top of the memorial. Since the bunker was beyond the part that he bought, thats all that remained of the memorial. Dont ask me how the Black Pearl ended up in the lake cause I dont know and the person never explained.

Anyway the dream ended there because I got up.

Weird no?

Ranting

I live in Florida, one county over from the drama that is unfolding down here. So I hear it every day, all the time on the television and radio and I'm getting sick of it. Sick of what you ask? Why the Case of Caley Anthony!

All they are doing is reporting the same thing over and over again and now that they have found the body, the media is halting all regular programs to broadcast special reports about it. We don't need to watch hour long reports on the same facts you're going to repeat a dozen times for the duration of that hour! I know for a fact that people would rather watch their programs or hear news from other parts of the country and world instead of this shit!!!!

Sick of it!! I dont care if the mother is guilty or not! I don't care that a child has been murdered or not! It's not the first time it has happened nor will it be the last time and that therefore makes this case no more special than the others! All this is turning out to be is another child murder case around Christmas time just like the last one in Utah! That one happened around Christmas time and this one happened around the same time and the media thinks its big news when it really isnt!

Hell I find the real life case of the Grinch Who Stole Christmas down here far more interesting than this murder case! But what is Orlando gonna do about that? Nothing! Because they're too damn busy ruining Christmas for everyone else and the Anthonys rather than focusing on catching the thieves who stole someone else's Christmas Tree and Presents!

This is suppose to be happy times For Barbossa's Sake!

You know because of the media coverage of this case, Casey Anthony will not get a fair trial. No matter what city her lawyer chooses to do the case in, there will be bias in the jury because of the media. This is why Britain does not divulge any information on an on-going investigation to the media until after the accused is brought to his first trial date. Sounds like Britain's justice system is far more just than ours.

Then again, the United States is full of nothing but corrupt, greedy, decadent twats anyway.

It is also the color of love and that which flows through our very veins. It is ironic that when I look back at our first meeting it had been through a red curtain during the Coronation Ball. At first it had been a mere glance between two people who had never met before and knew nothing about the other except what we had been told by others.

But there was a connection between us despite one of us having given our heart to another at the time. It is one of those moments where a mere glance could speak a thousand words to each person gazing upon the other and convey a message deeper than any mind could comprehend and only the heart could ever understand.

Since that day onward from that meeting and many others, this person has been on my mind. Who was this person I saw through a red curtain, this person that aroused a desire to want and know, that brought forth feelings I never thought I could feel for the other. Who was this person I knew I could not have because we were born on different levels of society, whom I felt for and wanted deeply?

Like the red curtain that symbolized our feelings, I felt for this person an undying and unquenchable…

Passion.
